This is to inform you that FR. JAMES A. O’DONNELL, S.J., died early this morning in The Medical City, Pasig. Fr. Jim, 90, had been in decline since late October, requiring visits to the hospital. He was being prepared for further tests today when he suffered cardiac arrest. He entered the Society in 1948 and was ordained to the presbyterate in 1961.
Given pandemic considerations, Fr. Jim’s remains will be cremated and the ashes brought to the JHWC for in-house memorial Masses there and at other communities on campus. The funeral Mass is scheduled at 8 a.m. on Saturday, 18 December; interment follows in the Province Cemetery at Sacred Heart Novitiate.
