CoffeeBreak Presents: How To Make Right Decisions?

October 23, 2018

Making decisions can be daunting.

Some are afraid to decide because of the consequences it brings. They fear how their decisions can hurt their loved ones. They dread making the same mistakes of the past. They cower at the prospect of committing to a wrong dream.

So, how does one make right decisions in life?

This is where Ignatius of Loyola’s discernment comes in.

Discernment for Ignatius is attentiveness to the “motions of the soul.” These interior movements consist of our thoughts, emotions, promptings, desires, feelings, repulsions, and attractions. For Ignatius, discernment is becoming sensitive to these movements, reflecting on them, and understanding where they come from and where they lead us – either closer to God or away from Him.

If you are confronted with a life-defining decision or asked to consider a life-long commitment, then our CoffeeBreak conversation is for you.
