PhJesuits celebrate the Feast of St. Ignatius of Loyola

July 4, 2019

The Philippine Province of the Society of Jesus invites you, our dear friends and mission collaborators, to the Eucharistic Celebration to commemorate the Solemnity of St. Ignatius of Loyola on July 28, 2019, Sunday, 3pm at the Ateneo High School Covered Courts (Ateneo de Manila University). Fr. Primitivo E. Viray, Jr., SJ, Provincial Superior, will be the main presider.

This year’s celebration will highlight the 4 Universal Apostolic Preferences of the Society of Jesus, namely: (1) Showing the way to God through the Spiritual Exercises and Discernment, (2) Walking with the Excluded, (3) Journeying with Youth, and (4) Caring for our Common Home.  The Universal Apostolic Preferences are the fruit of a process of discernment lasting almost two years. The Preferences give a horizon, a point of reference to the whole Society of Jesus. The Society of Jesus will pay special attention to them in the next ten years.

There will be a special collection during the mass for the repair and renovation of Sacred Heart Novitiate and Retreat Center. Checks may be addressed to Philippine Jesuit Aid Association.
