As the formation and school year draws to a close, we have to bid goodbye especially to Arrupeans who will return home, at least for the moment! Most of them are scholastics (5 philosophers, 4 theologians) but some are priests (about 4). For some, it has been a long journey at Arrupe – like Yoht who has been here for 8 years! So, as they say goodbye to “Arrupe (some say “Allupe”) English, we congratulate them for finishing another phase in their journey; we thank them for their contribution to and presence at AIR; and we promise them our prayers as they move on to the next stage of formation or to another priestly ministry. As for those who are left behind, we look forward to another fruitful formation year, awaiting another batch of new Arrupeans, a group that promises to be very “colorful,” backgrounds wise: Egyptian, Americans, Sri Lankans, Ugandan, Vietnamese, et al. To underline the “thanksgiving” aspect of the said dinner, look what we prepared for them!
