Good Friday: The Dungeon of Abandonment PDF Print E-mail

God enters the dungeon of abandonment this Good Friday and joins us in our deepest and darkest experiences... Journey with us as we go through the second part of our online Holy Week retreat.

GOD IN THE DUNGEONS
Lenten Questions about Life, Death, and Other Things in Between

Our online Holy Week retreat is an opportunity for you to pray not only over Scripture and Church teachings, but also—and just as importantly—about your own life.

Dungeons are not exactly the first place we go to when we want to look for God.  We expect to find Him in churches and the other “holier” places of our lives.  But that’s what Lent tries to correct about our impressions of God.  In the mysteries of Lent, God enters precisely the “dungeons of our lives”—the deepest, darkest experiences of human pain and suffering—because He wants us to find Him there.

He invites us to join Him in praying over the dungeons of our lives.
